Buda Autumn Leaf Clearance
This Buda property has three large live oak trees that produce a significant volume of autumn leaves. The homeowners had been managing it themselves but the scale of the property made a full clearance increasingly difficult to keep on top of.
A two-day seasonal clearance covered the full property: complete leaf removal from the lawn and all beds, grass mowing at autumn height, bed clearance and mulch refresh, and ornamental grass cut-back. The property was left clean, prepared, and ready for winter.

Three Mature Oaks Make Autumn More Than a Weekend Job.
The volume of leaves from three large live oaks is substantial. Left on the lawn for more than two weeks, the accumulated leaf layer blocks sunlight and air from the grass, creating conditions where the lawn deteriorates rapidly and fungal issues can develop.
The property layout meant the leaves from the trees in the back garden were being blown forward onto the front lawn by prevailing winds. Clearing the front without clearing the back simply moved the problem around. The entire property needed to be cleared in sequence.
The ornamental grasses throughout the beds needed to be cut back to their correct winter height. Left uncut through winter, the dead material becomes matted and can prevent healthy new spring growth. The cut-back needed to be precise, not mechanical, to keep each specimen looking intentional.
The mulch in the beds had broken down significantly over the growing season and needed refreshing before winter. Autumn mulching helps regulate soil temperature through the cold months and provides a clean visual start for the spring growing season.
What We Changed:
Cleared every leaf from all three areas of the property: front lawn side strips and full back garden
Mowed all lawn areas at the correct autumn height with a final clean cut for the season
Cleared all leaves and dead material from every garden bed throughout the property
Refreshed all garden beds with fresh dark hardwood mulch at a consistent depth
Cut back all ornamental grasses to their correct winter height of 4 to 6 inches
Removed and disposed of all collected material: leaf waste garden debris and grass clippings
A Property That Goes Into Winter Looking Intentional.
The contrast between the before and after of a full autumn clearance is one of the most dramatic in the seasonal calendar. A property covered in autumn leaves looks abandoned regardless of how well it was maintained through summer.
The fresh mulch throughout the beds gave the whole property a clean and considered appearance. Dark mulch at a consistent depth is one of the most effective visual improvements in any seasonal service.
The ornamental grasses cut back to neat mounds look structured and intentional rather than collapsed and messy. The homeowners said the property looked better in November after clearance than it had looked at any point during the summer.
