Project Overview

Mueller Pre-Sale Garden Cleanup

The Mueller townhouse was going on the market the following week. The front garden had been neglected during a period of transition between tenants and needed a full cleanup before the listing photographs could be taken.

A single full-day service covered everything visible from the street: weeding, mulching, edging, trimming, surface cleaning, and a final blow to leave every surface spotless. The photographer arrived the next morning.

The Challenges

A Week to Go, a Garden That Needed a Month of Work.

The front garden had accumulated several months of neglect during a tenancy gap. Weeds had established themselves in the ground cover beds, the pathway edges were obscured by overgrowth, and dead material from the previous season was still visible in the planting.

The client had a fixed photography date and a listing timeline that did not allow for multiple visits. Everything needed to be done in a single day and it needed to look not just tidy but genuinely appealing in photographs.

The Mueller townhouse style is contemporary and minimal. The garden needed to be presented in a way that complemented the architecture: clean, precise, and uncluttered. Any planting that looked overgrown or messy was better removed than left in place.

The photographs needed to work in all conditions. We prioritised elements that would read clearly in photographs: strong defined edges, consistent mulch depth, and clean hard surfaces. These are the details that make a garden look cared for in a wide-angle listing photograph.

What We Changed:

  • Removed all weeds and dead plant material from both front ground cover beds completely

  • Trimmed all remaining planting to a consistent neat height appropriate for the contemporary architecture

  • Applied fresh dark hardwood mulch throughout both beds at a consistent 3-inch depth

  • Precision-cut all edges along the pathway and the street boundary

  • Power-swept and blew the full pathway front steps and pavement area completely clean

  • Removed all collected waste material from the site before end of day

The Garden That Finally Let the House Speak.

The finished garden was photographed the following morning in the listing shoot. The estate agent commented that it was one of the better-presented townhouse fronts they had photographed in the Mueller district.

The key to a pre-sale cleanup is understanding what the camera captures. Strong edges, consistent mulch, and clean hard surfaces make a garden read as well-maintained in a wide-angle photograph. That is what buyers see first and what shapes their first impression of the property.

The property received three offers in its first week on the market. The homeowner attributed the strong opening interest partly to the presentation quality in the photographs.

We nearly listed without doing the garden. GreenCraft turned it around in one day and the listing photographs were genuinely impressive. Worth every penny and more." — Sarah M
